Thonglor Art Space

This five-storey commercial building is the de facto regional hub for music and the visual and performing arts. It promises a diverse medley of exhibitions – at least 12 annually – recruiting incredibly talented artists, dancers, musicians, and directors from all over Thailand. Evident by its open, welcoming architecture, the concept behind the space is to strengthen Bangkok’s artistic community by supporting local artists and collaborating internationally.

Paintbar Bangkok

With painting classes gaining popularity in cities worldwide, it’s no wonder one popped up in trendy Thonglor – with its own added twist. Hosted in a beautiful bar with floor-to-ceiling windows and views over the soi below, Paintbar’s motto is: “Because we don’t paint without sipping and we don’t sip without painting.” It has a great selection of wine, beer, cider, and sake, along with snacks to nibble on as you express your inner genius.

Urban Playground Climbing

A state-of-the-art climbing facility, Urban Playground has more than 7,000 square feet of climbing space, suitable for all levels from beginners to experts. Seeking a thrill right away? First timers can have a go under professional instruction in belaying, bouldering, or in a full-blown introduction to climbing course. Experienced climbers can contact the staff for help finding a session partner, or can offer a private belay service. Climbing not your thing? The open design is a true celebration of modern Thai architecture, dotted with cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops between full-grown trees under expansive ceilings. Nosh on international cuisine from food court kiosks imagined by top regional restaurateurs, before heading to pick up a few necessities, like vintage clothes, flowers, or freshly baked baguettes. Thonglor’s “electronic playground” is a childhood dream come true.
